Visual Solutions sells VisSim, a simulation package for developing continuous, discrete, multi-rate and hybrid system models and for performing dynamic simulations. VisSim incorporates an outstanding graphics user interface that is used to create diagrams of the systems being simulated. Each model consists of a collection of components connected by flexWires. Components can perform many kinds of activities such as evaluating a mathematical function, generating a random value, performing an arithmetic or logical test, and producing different forms of animation. VisSim add-ons allow users to find optimal solutions to mathematical programming problems, model fuzzy-logic systems, and do real-time control functions.

VisSim/OptimizePRO is an add-on product for VisSim developed specifically for the solution of constrained optimization problems that arise in simulation modeling. It is designed to take advantage of the VisSim visual simulation language. All of the features of VisSim can be used to create and organize your objective function and your constraint functions. VisSim dialog boxes make it easy to set upper and lower bounds on design variables. The Optimization Setup dialog box is used to start an optimization run. A monitor option helps you keep track of the progress being made during long optimization runs.

Download the VisSim/OptimizePRO demo (152KB self-extracting zip file, Vopt.EXE). This demo can be used with the VisSim full product or with Demo VisSim (available from the Visual Solutions' Web site). The Vopt.EXE file contains Vopt.dll, the 16-bit version and Vopt32.dll, the 32-bit version used with VisSim32 on Windows 95.

VisSim/Discrete-Event, another VisSim add-on, lets modelers use the VisSim GUI to construct, test, and execute discrete-event simulation models. The models can represent many styles of process behavior and can be used to model many different kinds of systems. CSIM17 is the simulation engine which "powers" VisSim/Discrete-Event.
