ConFit is a program designed to produce an approximating function from data. The interface allows the user to impose local shape properties on the approximating function or its derivatives. The approximation is computed by solving a least-squares problem for the coefficients of the B-spline function. When constraints are imposed on the approximating spline, the problem is converted into a quadratic programming problem that ConFit solves with BCLS.
ConFit is a Windows 95 application. The user interface uses a spreadsheet to hold problem data and shape specifications. The B-spline coefficients produced by ConFit are written to the spreadsheet and can be exported for use in other programs. ConFit can plot the data, approximating function, and derivatives of the approximating function.
A single user license is priced at $595.

You can try ConFit on your own problems through a free 90-day trial. Two steps are required:
First, send e-mail to info@maxthis.com and give us your name and contact information. We will send you a password for the Confit installation file.
Second, download ConfitDemoZ.exe, a self-extracting zip file, and install it on your system. You can download the installation file now, but you will need to get a password before you can install it.
More information about installing ConFit is provided in Readme_ConfitDemoZ.txt and User_guide.xls is an Excel spreadsheet with a Confit example problem and usage instructions.
